CELIA SERRANO
artivist · composer · saxophonist · singer · facilitator

About me
Celia Serrano is a Valencian musician based in the Netherlands, recognized for her work as an artist, composer, saxophonist, singer, and facilitator. Her music blends free improvisation, modern jazz, folk, ambient, and Latin influences, using intuition and poetry to explore themes of time, memory, and perception. Celia creates immersive soundscapes that invite listeners to engage with the present moment, drawing inspiration from philosophy and the world around her.

In addition to her artistic practice, Celia leads several musical projects, including Azúmbara, Still I Rise Collective, and LilyxCelia. She is also an educator, having developed "Sounds of Empowerment," a course that uses music and improvisation as tools for social transformation and engagement.

Celia’s work is shaped by her passion for interdisciplinary collaborations and her experiences in artistic residencies, which have inspired new compositions and deepened her research into artistic reflection and exploration.
Celia has performed at notable venues and festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Noorderzon, TivoliVredenburg, De Doelen, and the Amsterdam Roots Festival.

Currently, Celia is working on her debut album, De Paso, which was inspired during her first residency in Westerbork two years ago. Stay updated on the progress of the album and upcoming releases by connecting with Celia on her social media.
