My compositions:
De Paso
Celia Serrano
De Paso is a song composed in 2022 and recorded in 2023, inspired by my first artistic residency at Camp Westerbork— a former transit camp in the Netherlands during World War II — during my Master’s in New Audiences and Innovative Practice.
Inspired by the idea that time transforms everything, yet not everything heals. A place once marked by horror now overflows with natural beauty, but the land still whispers, quietly, its past.
Doctet
Celia Serrano
Doctet is a piece I composed in 2023 for a saxophone octet I was part of. It is an exploration of twelve-tone music that opens a space for improvisation and choice within a traditionally notated classical score. The idea was to challenge the boundaries between written and improvised music, allowing classical saxophonists to engage in spontaneous decision-making while navigating a structured, serial framework.

Shelter of Stories
STILL I RISE COLLECTIVE
Shelter of Stories is our debut EP as Still I Rise Collective. This EP is a refuge for our stories and lived experiences, using vulnerability as a form of empowerment and protest against the oppressive systems of patriarchy. Strengthened by our diverse musical backgrounds and our desire to come together and explore across genres, we create a unique sound inspired by contemporary jazz, minimalism, folk, and improvisation. Trigger warning: themes of sexual abuse and sexual harassment
SUENA BIEN
ANARCHIC SNAILS
Suena Bien is the debut single by Anarchic Snails, a group formed by sisters Eva, Blanca, and Celia Serrano. The song is a burst of energy and freshness with a socially conscious message. It reflects the duality between the rotten society we live in and the beautiful world we inhabit, as well as the power of music—showing that even when addressing injustice, you can still dance to it.
Músicas de Taibilla
CUADRILLAS DE NERPIO
This album celebrates Nerpio’s musical heritage, capturing songs that reflect the unique spirit of our region. I was fortunate to contribute to Nerpio, an adaptation inspired by Andalucía by El Kanka, reimagined here as a tribute to our town. Written by my father, Pedro Serrano, and performed with my sisters Eva and Blanca Serrano, Javi de Nerpio, and Sara González. The album preserves the legacy of local cuadrillas, reflecting the rich musical diversity of Taibilla.
